CentOS and Xen have always made a great pair. They’re even better together when you ignore the 3.0.x packages RedHat distributes with RHEL 5.x.
Note to everyone: STOP USING FTP. THERE’S NO REASON TO USE FTP! We got rid of telnet years ago, it’s time to ditch conventional FTP, too.
SSL isn’t a security panacea, but customers have come to expect it. And it’s a good idea in many cases for internal use. Whether you’re looking at a temporary cert during development, or just want SSL without the cost on an internal site, self-signed certificates can do the job admirably.
There’s a reason you should do a clean install instead of an upgrade between major versions.
